Mrs. Kelli Rodriguez
Hello Everyone!
My name is Kelli Rodriguez and I am thrilled to be in my second year as the librarian at Howe Hall AIMS! I began my career at AIMS in 2008 as a mom to a kindergartener who is now a junior in high school! In 2012 I began actually working at AIMS as the library media assistant and discovered my love for school libraries and the incredible things that happen in them each and every day. After completing the Master's of Library and Information Science program through the University of South Carolina in December of 2017, I had the amazing opportunity to begin my career as a school librarian in January of 2018 at Sangaree Intermediate. In August of 2018, I returned home to my AIMS family after our library media specialist retired and took over this library for the first time! I love interacting with our students, teaching library lessons each week, and helping students find books they LOVE to read. My goal is to assist our students in discovering a life-long love of reading that goes with them far beyond the walls of our elementary school.
One of my other passions in life is dance! I started dancing when I was three years old and am still dancing today. I enjoy assisting Mrs. Steele with AIMS Dance Company and am so thankful to be in a school that infuses arts into learning in the incredible way the teachers in this school do.
When I'm not in the library or teaching dance, you can find me spending time with my wonderful family. My husband, Frank, and I have been married for 20 years and have two amazing daughters, Amber (a junior in high school) and Briana (an eighth grader), a very mischievous cat named Tiger Lily and a much lazier feline ironically named Rowdy. I'm sure you will be surprised to know that I also adore reading...there is nothing better than getting to curl up with a good book and go on adventure right where you are! Some of my favorite books that are found in our library include Tuck Everlasting, Turtle in Paradise, The Romeo & Juliet Code, North of Nowhere, Deep Dark and Dangerous, Little Women, Found, and so many more...
