
BCSD transitions to virtual operations today, August 9
Due to unexpected flash flooding resulting in numerous road closures and impassable road conditions, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) schools and offices will transition to virtual operations Friday, August 9.
All extracurricular activities, athletics, and school programs are currently suspended Friday, August 9. BCSD leaders urge staff to stay off of the roads.
In collaboration with county and municipal leaders, BCSD will reassess conditions Friday and throughout the weekend and provide updates, as appropriate, concerning potential access to schools and offices.
BCSD leaders are working closely with Berkeley County Emergency Management and are receiving regular updates about the weather from the National Weather Service. As safety and security is our

Boys Varsity Tennis falls in the season opener at home to Fort Dorchester 4-2 on Monday. The Cobras will host Woodland on Tuesday.

B-Team Baseball falls to Summerville 11 – 2. The Cobras fall in the final game of the Tripp Rabon Memorial 11-2 to host Summerville on Sunday. The Cobras will be back in action next Saturday when they host Georgetown in a doubleheader Game is scheduled to start at 11am

The Boys Track Team finished 3rd at the Father Kelly Classic on Saturday hosted by Bishop England. The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Summerville for a tri-meet with Summerville and Woodland. Then on Saturday we will be back in Summerville for the Zaxby’s Azalea Invitational.

B-Team Baseball beats Fort Dorchester 6 – 0. Caden Funderburk pitched a no hitter to lead the Cobras to a 6-0 win over Fort Dorchester on Sunday afternoon.

The Cane Bay Girls Varsity Track Team finished 4th overall at the 2024 Father Kelly Classic hosted by Bishop England on Saturday. The Cobras set two school records in the meet, the 4×100 Shuttle Hurdle Relay Team of Za’riya Simmons, Natalia Green, Kamari Robinson and A’riana Smalls ran 1:14.00 to win the event. The other school record was the 4×1600 Relay Team of Amelia Santos, Savannah Connor, Tessa Lane and Sutton Orth finishing 24:06.64. Their time was 36 seconds faster than the previous record. Medalist from the meet are listed below. The Cobras will be in action twice this week, on Wednesday at Summerville and on Saturday in the Zaxby’s Azalea Invitational at Summerville.

The Boys Varsity Soccer team fell on the road at West Ashley 9-0 on Thursday. The Cobras will host Ashley Ridge on Wednesday. Due to track renovations being completed, the game will be played at Stratford High School.

The JV Boys Soccer open the 2024 season with a 4-1 win on the road at West Ashley. The Cobras will play Ashley Ridge on Wednesday. Due to the completion of the track renovations, the game will be played at Stratford High School.

Varsity Baseball beats Colleton County 4 – 1. Ethan Dodson pitched 5 innings, striking out 9 to lead the Cobras to a 4-1 win over Colleton County on Thursday. The Cobras improve to 2-1 on the season. The Cobras will open the regular season on Wednesday when they travel to Bishop England for a 6pm game.

B-Team Baseball beats Ashley Ridge 4 – 2. The Cobras open the Tripp Rabon Memorial Tournament with a 4-2 win over Ashley Ridge on Thursday. The Cobras will play Fort Dorchester on Saturday morning at 10:00am at Summerville High School.

Girls Varsity Soccer beats Ashley Hall School 3 – 0. Claire Orth scored 2 goals to lead the Cobras with a win over Ashley Hall on Wednesday. Isabella Graziani scored the other goal for the Cobras. The Cobras improve to 2-2 on the season and will travel to Pinewood Prep on Tuesday.

Boys Varsity Soccer beats Goose Creek 1 – 0. Payton Shoemaker scores in the 65th minute to give the Cobras a win over Goose Creek on Sunday. The Cobras finish 5th in the Charleston Shootout.

The Cobras JV baseball team beat Ashley Ridge 6-0 on Tuesday in the Singleton JV Tournament. Taylor Herndon and Kristopher Poe combined to strike out 13 Swamp Foxes in the win. The Cobras improve to 2-1 in the tournament and will play Fort Dorchester on Saturday at 12:30pm at the Moncks Corner Rec Center.

Junior Varsity Baseball beats Hanahan 12-1. The Cobras roll past the Hawks in game 2 of the Singleton Memorial Tournament 12-1 on Saturday. The Cobras will host Ashley Ridge on Tuesday at 6pm in game 3 of the tournament.

Boys Varsity Soccer beats Pendleton 2-1. The Cobras get two 2nd half goals to beat Pendleton 2-1 on Saturday. Parker Osborne and Payton Shoemaker scored for the Cobras. The Cobras will close the Charleston Shootout on Sunday in the 5th place match vs Goose Creek. The match will be played at 11am at Ravenel Stadium in West Ashley.

Junior Varsity Baseball team falls in the opener of the Singleton Memorial Tournament 6-3 to James Island.

The Cobras used a 8 run 4th inning to pull away from Branchville 10-3 on Saturday. This was game 1 of the Woodland Wood Bat Tournament for the Cobras. Devon Hogue went 2 for 2 with a home run and 3 RBI’s to lead the Cobras at the plate. Jered Petty picked up the win on the mound. The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday when they play Bishop England at 7:30pm at Woodland HS.
